आर्य समाज की स्थापना 1875 में महर्षि दयानन्द जी ने बॉम्बे में की थी । महर्षि दयानन्द जी ने ऐसे सुंदर समाज की स्थापना की थी जिसको समाज ने सम्मान की द्रष्टि से स्वीकार किया । महर्षि दयानन्द जी ने मनु का उदाहरण देते हुए कहा हैं कि आदमी की पहचान उसके जन्म से नही उसके कर्म से होनी चाहिए ।महर्षि दयानन्द जी ने एक स्वस्थ समाज की कल्पना के लिए इस समाज से सभी प्रकार का अन्धविश्वास एवं जात-पात को दूर करने के लिए इस आर्य समाज की स्थापना की ।
वास्तव में यदि समाज से अन्धविश्वास एवं जात-पात जेसी बुराईयों को दूर नही किया गया तो हम एक स्वस्थ समाज की आशा नही कर सकते । समाज को स्वस्थ बनाने के लिए हमे इन बुराईयों को समाज से दूर करना होगा ।
समाज को स्वस्थ बनाने और समाज से बुराइयों को ख़त्म करने के लिए ही महर्षि दयानन्द जी ने आर्य समाज मंदिरों में अन्तर्जातीय विवाहों का आयोजन किया । जिसके माध्यम से जातिवाद को ख़त्म किया जा सके । लेकिन दूसरी जातियों में सादी की बात सुनकर लोग अपना सन्तुलन खो बैठते है और मरने या मारने के लिए उतारू हो जाते है यदि आप चाहते है कि अपना समाज मजबूत एवं स्वस्थ बने तो हमे आर्य समाज का साथ देते हुए समाज से इस प्रकार की बुराइयों को मिटाना होगा ।
गीता में भी लिखा है "जन्मना जायते शूद्रः कर्मणा द्रिज उच्यते ।" जब इन्सान जन्म लेता है तो वह शूद्र के रूप में होता है परन्तु समय के अनुसार बड़ा होने पर उसके कर्म से उसकी तुलना शूद्र ,वैश्य ,क्षत्रिय एवं ब्राह्मण के रूप में होती है । Arya Samaj Mandir Delhi.
